Spinal and other joint manipulation is a technique that uses high velocity low force type thrust beyond the anatomical range of the joint. Counter to popular belief, joint manipulation does not necessarily “re-align” a segment, instead; it is believed that because of the maneuver a segmental relaxation of the muscles surrounding the joint will take place.
Manipulation is a techniques best used over a small area to release a specific restriction rather than a global technique. |
